Scott M. Rodell is the Director of the Great River Taoist Center [GRTC] located in Washington, DC. (with branches in Baltimore, Maryland, Moscow, Russia, Estonia and Finland). GRTC recently celebrated its seventeenth anniversary. Rodell has been studying and/or teaching free-form taijiquan and swordplay in the Yang Family tradition for almost 20 years. Rodell frequently teaches classes and seminars in the United States and around the world.
Rodell is a recognized expert in antique Chinese armaments. He is much sought after as a source of antique Chinese arms by museums and by serious collectors. He was one of the first ten Americans to enter the door of the Jin Shan Pai, a traditional school of Taoist Nei Gong. Rodell was the sixth generation teacher initiated into this tradition.
